Quantor KSE Plus Flotation Pump

The KSE Plus flotation systems are designed for the gentle and safe pre-clarification of white and red must using an eccentric screw pump.

In flotation, the must to be clarified is impregnated under pressure with a flotation gas (usually air or nitrogen). This must then releases the gas in a flotation tank. The released gas bubbles carry the suspended solids to the surface of the must, where they form a solid layer of lees through continuous gas flow. The clarified must is drawn off from the bottom of the tank. For optimal results, the use of pectolytic enzymes and high-bloom gelatin is recommended. Treatment agents such as activated carbon or bentonite can also be added.

The solid content of floated musts is below 1%. The degree of must pre-clarification can also be easily determined by taking samples. When using air, partial oxidation of free phenols can occur.

Gelatin can be added directly into the tank or via the supplied control valve. For improved operation during flotation, we recommend using a corner strainer on the suction side (available as an option).

We offer the KSE Plus flotation systems in five sizes, with flotation capacities ranging from 4,000 to 20,000 l/h, depending on the model. All models are also equipped with a mobile stainless steel base frame with parking brake and a stainless steel control cabinet.
